Qi Gong (chee-gong) is an ancient healing tradition, which can be dated as far back as the shamanic healing rituals of the Neolithic Ice Age. These rituals & dances invoked the animal Spirits & gathered the elements to aid in the healing of the sick and weak. Many modern Qi Gong movements still retain the names reflective of the ancient totemic dances, such as the “Dragon Extending it’s Claws”. Over the centuries a variety of lineages of Qi Gong developed through the East. In recent years, the Western world has started to embrace the healing qualities of the ancient Qi Gong practices.
Although there are many different lineages of Qi Gong, there are common basic threads that feed the core of the practice – Movement, Meditation, Intention, and Breath/Sound. Each of these elements provide a basis for the alchemical shift which cultivate the inner flow of energy & allow for the unfolding of one’s full potential.
